Opportunities: jobs, tenders and notices

Before you start, open this page: Website / Opportunities.

Can’t find one? It may be turned off for your business, or your account may not be allowed to open it. Ask the person who set up your FeePrime. They can fix both.

Opportunities is your public notices board. Jobs, tenders, calls for partners, investment rounds.

It is one page for all of them, because they share a shape. Something is open, for a while, and somebody should reply.

What every opportunity has

A type says which kind it is, and the form changes to match.

They all carry a title, a summary, a description, a category, photos, documents, and a contact for people to reply to.

The two that do the real work are valid from and valid to. Those are the open and close dates.

They are what stops your notices board turning into a museum. Set them when you post, not later.

There is also an application url, for sending applicants to a form somewhere else. And a source url, for pointing at the original notice when you are reposting somebody else’s.

Fields that depend on the type

job -> type of work, where it is done,
                   salary range, experience level, location
  partnership   -> type of partnership
investment -> amount needed, stage, target raise,
share price, minimum shares, cap table

You only see the set that matches the type you picked. That is why the form looks different from one opportunity to the next.

Publish the salary range

Of all the fields here, the salary range is the one most often left blank, and the one that costs you most.

A job advert with no range gets applications from people it was never going to suit, and silence from the people who assumed the worst.

It is the field that decides who bothers applying.

Featured and members-only, same as elsewhere

Opportunities have the same featured window as updates, and the same access membership types.

A tender limited to members works exactly like a members-only post. Visible, locked, with an invitation to join.

Worth knowing if you run an association. “Our members see tenders first” is a benefit you can actually deliver, not just advertise.

Try it

On staging.feeprime.com, post a job with a close date in the past, and another with a close date next month. See how the public list treats each one.

Then post one limited to a membership type, and look at it while logged out.
