Sales reports

You’ll need: Sales reports — if you cannot see these, the module may be switched off for your business or outside your permissions. An administrator can change either.

A sales report answers what sold, to whom, where, and for how much — over a period you choose.

What you choose

Start date and end date set the window. Group by decides the shape of the answer. And you can narrow by customer, product, business location, location tag or currency.

Include line details switches between the summary and every individual line.

Group by is the whole report

The same period grouped differently answers completely different questions:

   by product what sells
   by customer who buys
by location where the business is
by period whether it is growing

People run one report, see one number, and conclude the tool is thin. Run the same window four ways and you have a picture rather than a total.

Currency matters more here than anywhere

If you trade in more than one currency, a report that mixes them is meaningless — you cannot add francs to euros and get a number that means anything.

Filter by currency, or read the breakdown as separate figures. A single combined total across currencies is the most confidently wrong number a report can produce.

What a sales report is not

It is not your accounts. It tells you what sold; your income statement tells you what you earned after everything else. The two will not match, and they are not supposed to — that is the Cash & Accounting course.

Nor is it a stock report. Sold is not the same as shipped, which is why the inventory course has its own.

Use it before the month ends

The habit worth building: run it during the period rather than after it. A report at month end tells you what happened. The same report on the fifteenth tells you what is about to happen while you can still change it.

Try it

On staging.feeprime.com, run the same period grouped by product, then by customer, then by location. Three reports, three different conversations — and the point of the module lands immediately.
